Dolly days

My boob twin! (image)
I love breastfeeding.

I am still breastfeeding baby D and this is my third time doing the breastfeeding thing. I think I have loved breastfeeding more each time I have had the privilege of doing it.  For me it is a privilege because I am lucky enough to have the ability to breastfeed with ease and any breastfeeding woes are usually ones involving too much milk production. Ask any woman who has had issues trying to breastfed their baby and producing too much milk is not generally high on their list of issues.

However, this overproduction means that most days I am sporting a rack to rival Dolly Parton.  I am normally a B cup, yet these days am at least a D.  I find it really uncomfortable and downright difficult to dress.  I have to make sure whatever I wear allows easy access to my chest area and most importantly actually fits. I would venture to guess that at least 60-70 percent of my wardrobe is currently off limits as it doesn't meet these two criteria.

I seriously don't understand the big boob thing.  I am not loving the attention the rack gets.  At a recent party an acquaintance asked me if I had had breast implants. I find it baffling that there are women out there who like this kind of attention and actually go under the knife to achieve it.

While I will be sad once my breastfeeding days are no longer I am so looking forward to smaller boobs and wearing the rest of my clothes once again.

  1. As you know I am large of bosom. I started my first pregnancy a DD cup and now I sport a HH cup.. I wish I was kidding. I also don't understand the obsession with big boobs.. I thought I was going to get lovely small boobs after breastfeeding, alas, I didn't! It is hard to dress and it isn't pleasant when people talk at your cleavage. But I have made my peace now.. I found a great place on line which makes fab bras for my size that don't look like white scaffolding.. so it's all good. Hope your boobs go back to their normal size soon, but in the meantime, I think you look gorgeous, rack or no rack :-)

  2. Aw thanks!

Am now worried will be stuck with them. If that is the case will need to get the details of your bra place as am barely hoisting them up these days. The breastfeeding bras are horrible for giving them some lift.

  3. People often want what they don't have. Grass is greener and all that. I wish I had bigger ones - I look like a man. Can you donate some to a sister? xx

  6. Bang on the money P23, grass is always greener. If you have small ones you want big ones, if you have big ones you want small ones. Same with curly v. straight hair.
The best thing about stopping breastfeeding is wearing 'pretty' bras again. And dresses!
