More botanical talk
I have never really been a flower person.
I have always thought receiving flowers as a gift as a waste of money. The flowers look nice for a few days sure, but they eventually make a mess and die. I know, sometimes I am too practical for my own good.
However, I love having flowers in the garden. My favourite flower is the hydrangea and thankfully they have thrived in our front garden. We have an abundance of them in all sorts of colours and they are just so gorgeous.
Miss V and I spent a fun morning a week or so ago picking a bunch of them to put in vases around the house. It has been a shitty week and looking at these in my pretty vintage vase has brightened up most of my days.

Oh thank God, I'm not the only person that thinks flowers are a waste. The money! The mess! I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteBut I too love flowers in the garden. I've moved around a bit the last few years, but have managed to drag my pot plants with me every single time. I particularly love my rose and raspberry, they are my pride and joy :) don't I sound ancient, I don't care ;)
Not much better than fresh pickings from the garden. These are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh they are gorgeous! Such pretty colours.
ReplyDeleteI adore flowers. Growing them and receiving them. There is something so special about collecting a bunch from your own backyard.
Leah-I am glad I am not alone in disliking flowers as a gift. I always feel like a female failure when I admit that!
ReplyDeleteBabyMac & HN- fresh pickings from the garden are nature's pick me up. Love seeing them around the house.
Gorgeous flowers! Very jealous. Qld weather is unkind to hydrangeas. C xo
